Living longer means you need a larger stream of income

I know you all thought you were going to retire on a desert island and set back and relax. The fact is older workers are an outstanding source for employers. We grew up in a different era where if we wanted something for the most part we had to go out and earn it. I was the oldest of three and if I didn't go get it, it wasn't going to come my way. Work ethic, dedication and hard work were and are some of the founding principles that boomers lived by and worked by. The other positive of working is it gives you a sense of purpose, instead of being put on the shelf like an old pair of shoes, it gives you a reason to get up every morning and accomplish the task at hand.
